We require GMAT or GRE scores for the One-Year MBA, Two-Year MBA and MMM programs. You must report your scores by the application deadline. JD-MBA applicants can only submit a GMAT score.
Please request that official test scores are sent to Kellogg by using one of the following school codes:
- Our GMAT code is 6WZ-3J-89
- Our GRE code is 7921
We will record the highest valid score but encourage you to report additional scores received after submission of your application. However, there is no guarantee the new score will be evaluated when the Admissions Committee reviews your file. To do this, please sign in to your application and then add your update in the supplemental information page. Also be sure to report your official scores to Kellogg using one of the school codes listed above.
- We do not require a minimum GMAT or GRE score
- The GMAT or GRE is just one criterion our admissions team considers and not the only indicator for success in business school
- The total GMAT or GRE score is based on your performance on the Quantitative and Verbal sections only
- GMAT/GRE scores are valid for five years
Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management today (Jan. 14) began telling applicants who received a waiver for a new video admissions test that they could still submit a video essay.
Kate Smith, assistant dean of admissions and financial aid, said applicants who were granted a waiver have until the end of this Friday, Jan. 17th, to do the video.
“The video essay is a great opportunity for us to meet our applicants from wherever they might be in the world and to get to know you on a more personal level in a spontaneous format,” wrote Smith in an email obtained by Poets&Quants.
An uncertain number of applicants were unable to complete the new video essay due to “technical difficulties” that the school has largely attributed to connectivity problems. In some cases, applicants who tried to access the video test from work found that they were blocked by their corporate firewalls.
The email from Smith follows:
Thank you for submitting your application to the Kellogg School of Management.
I’m sending you this note, because you received a waiver for the video essay portion of your application due to the technical difficulties you experienced.
We want to make sure that anyone who is interested in applying to Kellogg has the opportunity to submit a video essay.
You still have the option to submit a video as part of your original application. All you need to do is go to this link — https://apply.kellogg.northwestern.edu/apply/vid — insert your email address and the account password you previously created, and follow the instructions. If you have questions, you can refer to these video essay troubleshooting tips.
If you plan to submit a video, please do so no later than the end of the day Friday, January 17th.
The video essay is a great opportunity for us to meet our applicants from wherever they might be in the world and to get to know you on a more personal level in a spontaneous format.
Thank you for your interest in Kellogg.
